With the growing population in a lot of countries around the globe, different legal ways to prevent pregnancy are developed and utilized. One of the contraceptives available is the intrauterine device or IUD which is used by a lot of women because of its advantages. IUD only has about five percent chances of pregnancy, does not require strict daily monitoring and does not interrupt intercourse.
However, there are some cases when the IUD is not inserted correctly and this could lead to unexpected pregnancy. The worst thing is that those who become pregnant even with IUDs will suffer from risky pregnancy that can lead to miscarriage, infection and even premature or stillbirth.
To prevent problems such as these, make sure you have your IUD inserted by an experienced medical personnel. You can also use the small string (that comes with the IUD) to check whether the IUD is placed properly. However, if you suffer from intolerable pain, immediately seek advice from your physician to take the necessary actions you need to take.
